More Space for You

Parking at the new MSY will be a much improved experience for our passengers. With over 8,000 spaces, there will be four different parking options to choose from and more than enough space to meet the airport’s parking demand for coming years.

The new Short Term Parking Garage will feature 2,190 spaces as well as a walkway directly from the 4th floor of the garage to the Ticketing and Check-in area on the the third level of the terminal.

The 2,750-space Long Term Garage is under construction now, and is located across from the arrivals area on the east side of the facility. The area was originally planned as a surface parking lot, but a significant increase in passenger numbers led the airport to proactively reevaluate its parking plans. In October 2018, construction on the second garage began. It is expected to be completed in two phases with the part of the garage closest to the terminal opening in July 2019 and the full facility complete in September 2019.

Another parking option adjacent to the terminal is a 685-space Surface Parking Lot, which offers convenient parking just a short walk way at a lower rate.

The garage that currently operates as the Long Term Garage at the existing terminal will become a remote 2,438-space Economy Garage with optimized shuttle service available to and from the new terminal.

All parking in airport lots are on a first come, first serve basis. 
Rates are at the posted rate for that lot.

You can park in any lot for up to 30 days without notifying parking garage management. Going to gone over 30 days? Contact the parking operator at 504-464-0204.

Parking Availability 

Real-time parking availability will be listed on the Airport's website and on roadway signage leading to the airport. This allows passengers the convenience of knowing parking availability to determine where to park before leaving for the aHeading 3irport. 

Park Assist

Park Assist is a new technology that will be implemented in all parking garages that helps direct passengers to available parking spaces. Each row of parking with have lights on the ceiling. A green light indicates at least one available space within the four spaces the light is above. A red light indicates that all four spaces are taken. This new amenity will reduce the time it takes to find parking and get to the terminal for a flight

Electric Car Charging Stations

Dedicated parking spaces for electric car charging will be available on the 1st floor of the __________ Parking Garage. For additional information, please contact New South Parking at .
 

Disabled Veteran Parking

The Airport received FAA concurrence on its Disabled Veteran Parking Plan. In order to receive the free parking benefit, the Airport will require certain forms to be completed in advance of exiting the Airport's parking facilities. The required forms are available below.
