New Orleans is one of the friendliest cities in America. Everyone feels welcomed and that welcome for many begins at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Just think of the warm feelings you would have if you had just arrived at the airport and were greeted by someone with a welcome smile and beads, not to mention much needed information or assistance. We hope that welcome is from someone like you!New Orleans International Airport is seeking volunteers who would like to be part of a customer service program called MSY Lagniappe K.R.E.W.E.
Volunteer duties include:
- Meet and greet passengers and visitors with a welcome smile and beads
- Help passengers and visitors by directing them to the correct personnel, concourses, airlines or amenities
- Answer questions and provide information about New Orleans and the Greater New Orleans Metro area
- Assist travelers with special needs
- Report problems to the proper authority
Volunteers can be found at the Airport 7 days a week from 5AM to 9PM. The program was started in December 2011. Since then there have been more than 26,000 hours donated.
Scheduling and Availability
Ambassadors will be able to update their availability and schedules using a web-based service hosted by shiftplanning.com This service provides flexibility for our Ambassadors to view available shifts as well as notify the management of any changes in their availability or preferences. We would like to encourage volunteers to donate an average of 20 hours per month using this system, however less time is always welcome.
